Types Of Spinal Injections
The Spinal Injections For Back Pain are of the following types:
Epidural Injection
The epidural injections involve injecting a mixture of drugs involving analgesic, anti-inflammatory, or steroidal injections on an affected nerve in the epidural space. This injection reduces the inflammation around the nerves thus relieving the nerve pain in legs. This also helps in reducing epidural fibrosis if we inject hyaluronic acid in combination with other drugs.
Selective Nerve Root Block Injection
Selective nerve root block injections are administered transforaminal in epidural space along the nerve root which is affected and causing pain because of slip disc problem. It can be used for both diagnostic or therapeutic use. These injections are injected in multiple areas of spinal compression and aim to relieve pain.
Medial Branch Block Injections
A medial branch block injection is a local anesthetic injection given onto the medial branch nerves; the nerves transmit pain signals from a facet joint. They can help pinpoint the exact position of the wing joint that is causing the pain.
Facet Joint Injection
Facet joint injections are given inside the facet joint and the drug given includes anti-inflammatory and analgesic medicines given directly on the arthritic facet causing pain.
Sacroiliac Injection
SI joint injections are given to joints located between the ileum(pelvic bones) and sacrum and Sacrio-iliac joint and ultimately improve pain in the buttocks, legs, and lower back.
Trigger Point Injection
